Let's get real here guys and gals, being in front of a camera can be awkward AF! Especially if you have never hired a photographer before. I want to make things clear for you so you know exactly what you are getting yourself into.
An honest approach..
This is the time to get vulnerable. It is so important to me that we get to know one another so I can really tell your story. We will be spending some of the most intimate moments together after all, right?
My process is not about set poses and saying "cheese", because that's just not who you are! You are head out the car window while blasting your favorite song, or curling up together on the couch with a good book, or jumping in the river together after a long hike! Whatever it is that makes your heart the happiest I want to know!

First things first let's grab some coffee or a drink and just talk! I want to get to know you so we can be more than just vendor and client! We are creating these images and memories TOGETHER and I think that's pretty freakin rad! I want you to know that I care deeply and I really want to show up for you in as many ways as I can! So lets be friends!

Your engagement shoot is going to be so much fun! I know that most people are uncomfortable in front of the camera, but I promise you it won't suck and I will make sure we have a good time! I keep things super casual and usually bring some drinks and music which always helps take away some of the nerves. As I mentioned before I don't really do "poses", but don't worry, I will be there to give you prompts and show you how to frolic.. yeah that's right.. I said frolic! But I am also looking for those "in-between" moments where you are laughing while telling me an embarrassing story about your partner, or when you forget that i'm there and your kiss turns into a full on makeout session! Your engagement photos are an opportunity for us to continue getting to know one another so when it comes time for your wedding day, I know how to better capture your story!
Planning your wedding can be so fun and SOOO stressful at the same time. I have been through it myself and completely sympathize with you! I want to be there for you during this process in more ways than just helping you pick a location for your engagement photos! Let's talk wedding day timeline, vendors, lets just vent to each other!

When we first get a chance to meet, I will talk you through exactly how I will be photographing your wedding, and we will talk about this in more detail as we get closer to your date. I want you to be able to enjoy the hell out of your wedding day and just live fully in the moment! This means I will be a lot more quiet and actually doing my best to fade into the background during most of your wedding. That day should be about you marrying the love of your life, not about getting the most pinterest worthy photos. In reality, those beautiful and emotionally charged moments are going to be happening all day without me prompting them! I will still be there for you 100% of the time, and there will still be moments where we will be talking through what will happen next. And of COURSE I will be dancing my booty off with you at the reception!
